Kate Miller-Heidke

Kate Melina Miller-Heidke was born on 16 November in Gladstone, Queensland. She completed a Bachelor of Music degree in Classical Voice from the Queensland Conservatorium of Music at Griffith University, followed by a Master of Music degree at Queensland University of Technology.

As a classical singer, Kate Miller-Heidke has won the Elizabeth Muir Prize (), Donald Penman Prize (), Linda Edith Allen Memorial Prize () and Horace Keats Prize ().  She has performed as an understudy in productions, &#;Sweeney Todd&#;, &#;Don Pasquale&#; and &#;Un ballo in maschera&#;. In July she made her solodebut with Opera Queensland in the role of Flora in &#;The Turn of the Screw&#;.


From , Kate Miller-Heidke played in several Brisbane alternative pop bands. Miller-Heidke became known in Brisbane from several performances and her appearance in Women in Voice 14 won her the Helpmann Award for Best Performance in an Australian Contemporary Concert.

Kate Miller-Heidke is an award-winning singer and songwriter who traverses the worlds of contemporary pop, folk, musical theatre and opera. She represented Australia at the Eurovision Song Competition in and is currently appearing as a Coach on Channel 7's THE VOICE Australia. She has released 5 top ten studio albums including O Vertigo!, Nightflight, and Curiouser, which reached double platinum sales and featured the multi-platinum hits ‘The Last Day On Earth’ and ‘Caught In The Crowd’.
