Joyce Meyer is a Christian author and speaker. She is also the president of the Joyce Meyer Ministries. Meyer was born Pauline Joyce Hutchison Meyer on June 4, , in St Louis, the United States of America.

Young Joyce was brought up by her mother initially, as her father served in the army during the Second World War. After her father’s return from the military, he abused her not just sexually but mentally, emotionally, and verbally as well. He was a commanding character.

The mishandling left a deep imprint on Joyce herself. Though she looked okay to outsiders, Joyce had become a victim of multiple personality disorder. Her concentration in school was poor and was also not allowed to participate in any after-school activities.

At a young age, Joyce was filled with a sense of low self-esteem. She was hardly manageable and developed a controlling, manipulative, insecure, and harsh character. She experienced a feeling of guilt and negative thinking that was steered by suspicion. The worst was that she never felt secure everywhere.
